SASC PAYMENT OPTIONS

General Information

Most Member transactions with the SASC are processed through our Wild Apricot Membership System (this web site). There is no longer a requirement for paper forms for New Membership Applications, Membership Renewals, Social Events or Tours. This system allows payment by Credit Card, eTransfer and Cheque. Credit card payments are automatically processed, while eTransfers and Cheques require additional action by both Members and our Volunteers. The system creates invoices and emails the invoices to members, with any balance due indicated. In the case of eTransfers and Cheques, our Volunteers receive the payment, then update the system to indicate payment has been received. There are different considerations, listed below, for the major transaction types.

The Seniors Alpine Ski Club has acquired and implemented a new web site and administrative system. This cost of this system and other charges are a challenge for a not-for-profit organization, like SASC. SASC is meeting these added costs by increasing prices for membership and social functions. Tours will have a System Service Fee of 3% included at checkout for all payments. Offline payments, for Tours only, (cheques and eTransfers) have been discounted by 3% prior to invoicing.

Memberships Applications and Renewals

  • eTransfers - eTransfers should be sent via your financial institution.  Use email: payments@seniorsalpineskiclub.com in your eTransfer form. The payee should be 'SENIORS ALPINE SKI CLUB'. Ski Tours

  • Cheques - Cheques should be made out to the Seniors Alpine Ski Club. The amount of the cheque should be the entire cost of the Tour. If Self Drivers qualify for a discount, a refund will be issued. The cheque can be post-dated for the Deadline Date of the tour as noted on the Tour Web Page or in the Tours Edition of the Ski Chatter Newsletter.  Please note on the cheque, the name of the tour participant for whom the payment is made, the name of the Tour and the invoice number (if possible). Cheques may be dropped off, in person, to the Tour Host, at our Registration Day, October 26, 2024. Cheques can be mailed to the Tour Host listed on the Tour Web Page or the Ski Chatter. Use of a cheque will result in a discount of 3% on the total cost of the Tour
  • eTransfers - eTransfers should be sent via your financial institution.  Use email: payments@seniorsalpineskiclub.com in your eTransfer form. The payee should be 'SENIORS ALPINE SKI CLUB'.  No security code is required. eTransfers are automatically deposited into the SASC bank account. Please indicate in the comments section: 1) the name of member for whom the payment is made, 2) the name of the Tour (destination), and 3) the invoice number (if possible). Use of eTransfer will result in a discount of 3% on the total cost of the Tour
  • Online Payments - Credit and Debit cards are an optional payment method for Tours. Use of Online Payments for a Tour will NOT include the discount of 3%. (That means Online Payments will be 3% higher than Offline Payments.)

Ski area discount cards will be available for purchase at Registration Day on October 26, 2024. Payment is via Cash, Cheque or Money Order. SASC does not have the ability to use Credit Cards, Debit Cards or eTransfers at Registration Day.

Credit Cards

SASC will accept Visa and Mastercard credit card payments. AMEX is not accepted.

Debit Cards

Visa Debit and Debit Mastercard are accepted by our payment processor. Our online payment processor does not process Interac Debit Cards.

Online Payments - Additional Information

SASC Members have been asking for years about the use of credit cards. Our previous system was unable to properly handle credit card use and processing. SASC did attempt to take credit cards via Docusign for memberships, but there were a number of problems with that system. Our new system integrates credit card processing. However, the system and use of online payments has increased our costs. As noted above, SASC has slightly increased our Membership Fees and Social Event Prices to accommodate the increased costs. A System Service Fee of 3% will be added to Tours, however, this will be discounted for Offline Payments (cheques and eTransfers).

Our System Service Fee of 3% might deter the use of Online Payments for Tours. However, many credit card users get points or cash back on transactions which would reduce the cost of the System Service Fee. Some credit card users may have health, accident and/or trip cancellation insurance for purchases made via the credit card. If purchased additionally, these insurance benefits might exceed the cost of the System Service Fee. Members considering this should check the fine print on their credit card benefits. Some credit cards terminate these benefits when card holders reaches a certain age, like 65.
